ANN ARBOR, 6 JULY 2004-------I just got back from a family reunion of more than 1000 family members from my father's side of the family. It was a very big affair. I gather that, to somebody who has been at Amway conventions, it vaguely resembled one of them. I'd been invited to share my music there, and had let slip that I'd shared it through a recording rather than a live performance because it would cost a bit more
I've taken care to delete the name of one distant cousin who gave me his card, who I wrote to just to touch bases.

It was nice meeting you as well Matt. I do not knopw if I discussed
my internet business opportunity. But you said if you had $50,000,
you could have had the Chicago Philharmonic perform your piece. I
think that would be awesome!!! _Well, this business opportunity
could help you make an additional $60,000 - $1,000,000 per year so
you can have that tkae place. It does not require you to give up
your job, just about 5 - 10 hours time commitment per week.
To see if you qualify, please answer the following questions and
e-mail your response. _If you could look down the road 5 years and $
were not an object, how would you reshape your life. Rebuild your
life. Restruct your life. For example, would you live where you
live? _If you could look down the road 5 years and $ were not an
object, would you prefer to live on lake or river or on 100 acres if
you could. _Would you drive something different. Debt on it? Would
you be out of debt if you could? _If $ were not an object, would you
travel abroad and take your wife and kids? _If $ were not an object
would you provide different kind of education for kids? _Instead of
government schools , would you home school , or private school them?
Would you hire a teacher to work with each child? _If $ were not an
object would wife be working today? _What you would have in
retirement today? _How about a higher education fund for kids.

[correspondent], you're a sweet guy, and I'm very sorry that you're caught up
with multi-level marketing. It's a rat race based on greed, and it
cannot possibly leave you room to enjoy life here and now. I can
answer you firmly in the negative without any further information
about your opportunity. I'm not interested in Amway, Tupperware, Mary
Kay, Herbalife, Spamming, or any other recruitment-based
business. I am already thoroughly engrossed in my two simultaneous
full-time careers, in both of which I get nachas daily by seeing that
I've done good for the world. You can continue chatting with me, but
if you bring up network marketing again in any form, your messages
will be silently blocked.
_The CD of Sages of Chelm will be out in the autumn, and I'm grateful
for your attentive interest in it.
Matt

I warned you. All further e-mail from you will be automatically
deleted. Sorry we couldn't have any other conversation, but you did
not respect the rule I laid out for you, though you had no problem
quoting it back to me. You are in a cult of greed, and you have mistaken
my avocations for whimsy--which is a little bit insulting, frankly.
Perhaps you will get a chance to talk to me in person some day again,
after you've gotten rid of this disease.

Dear Mat,
Before you put me on automatic delete, I never got any
warning from you. You are the one with the disease, of
narrowmindedness. What I should is put you on
automatic delete until you get over this disease.
The questionaire is not teaser.
It is to permit me to get an idea whether your Dream
is big enough to build this business. If you want I
can give you the name of the website, but experience
has shown from my mentors that if you do not have a
big dream, you will not build the business so there is
no point in introducing it to you and waste our time.
If you place me on autopmatic delate, the negative
Karma will affect you. Do you know the law of cause
and effect. I am endeavoring to help you get the
Chicago Philharmonic to play your wonderful
composition. Your "field" is wonderful, but
unfortunately, most of the time they don't pay you the
dollars you are truly worth. Your piece is worth
millions, Mat. But unfortunately, I do not think the
world will pay you that much. I wish they would pay
you 10 million.
The other thing about this business, is that if you
qualify and you get in, I will help you, and I won't
charge you for the services.
PS I like the MP3 on your website - add more! and let
me know when your recording is ready
regards,
[correspondent]
PSS the business is not about greed. We have helped
1000's of people change their lives for the good. Our
divorce rate in WWDB is about 2%, compared to >50%
nationwide, so we must be doing something right.
------------------------------------------
I conducted a 5 minute search of the web.
WWDB turns out to be Worldwide Dreambuilders,
the new name under which the same old Amway is now doing its
pyramid scam, inwhich the average monthly income of full-time distributors is less than $100 (In an attempt at severability,
Amway now also calls itself Quixtar, and the Quixtar label
applies to homecare products nobody wants). Yes, the founders earn nearly a million dollars a year, but they don't DO anything or MAKE anything worthy of that value, they just scam off their pyramid.
Frankly, with those odds and pressures, and given the
utter inability to listen to criticism of pyramids and Amway which
this fellow demonstrated, I'm rather inclined to suspect that
Amway has a near-100% divorce rate, actually.
