Program Note
"Mystical traditions speak of purely imaginary things as
hidden, secret, and somehow more real than reality.
"I'm not a mystic. I live here and now in reality.
But, I speak of facts which lie deliberately hidden by people,
things made to seem crazy to those who aren't in the know.
Beneath outwards appearances, some idyllic-seeming, stable,
patriarchal families hide a cruel ongoing pattern of domestic violence.
"This, then, is a rondo of inversion canons and refrains, a soundtrack for that
secret hidden horror."
--Matthew H. Fields
