Sprincy Web Design: Spammers
Over the past ten years, I've gotten a large number
of unsolicited e-mails from somebody calling themselves
Sprincy Web Design in China.
Their apparent message is simple: they wish me to use their
business.
I've come to a startling conclusion.
They are not web designers.
They are in the business of spamming.
And they are using their web design spam to advertise their ability
to defeat anti-spam measures and force recipients to cover their costs.
They've renamed themselves
Sprincay Web Design, Sprinncay Web design, Spregweb Design, Spregwebtech, SprWebTechSA,
DaniTechWeb, Sprevicay Web Design, UK-web---design,
Sprinceyweb2, Sprinceyweb3, Sprinceyweb4, daniel13365,
daniel3365, danielcyweb, webdanremove, Websitecy,
SPRCY Web design, SPR.CY, geist-und-kultur, sprinnceymbr, Sprincycs, webdan789,
cywebtech, sprinncaycn49m, sprwebtech27, fhermes, Sprianncay, heinlongweb7,
danisprwebcs162, danitechcs, websouspram, danisprwebcs90, sprwebdanitech159,
Spriaencay Web Design, webtechdanispr20, endeavorcy, hatishbi, sprwebtechcsa, Spreeeiicay Web
Design, unsubscribespr, endeavorkax4lin, geidel-bremerh,
Saprok Web Design, and sprevicay Web Design.
Evidence indicates that they've used multiple addresses at canadawebhosting.com,
The message underlying everything they do is clear: They have the resources and
time to mutate their messages and IP addresses to overwhelm many quite powerful
anti-spam measures.
Web designers do not do this. Web designers make provocative, innovative, beautiful
web pages which attract attention to themselves and thus advertise their creators.
In contrast, Sprincy are using their web design ads to reach advertisers
and to show advertisers
that, in the usual manner of spammers, telemarketers, and junk fax advertisers,
they have found ways of externalizing the cost
of advertising while reaching a vast audience: forcing the audience to pay for it,
whether the audience wants to or not.
By declaring that they are in China, they convey the message that the government
of China supports their criminal activity. This amounts to a loss of prestige for
China in all but the criminal sector. China should take an active interest in
shutting them down and bringing them to justice.
And by using ISPs in the USA, Germany, France, Russia, Latvia, Thailand, Indonesia, Zimbabwe,
Qatar, Poland, Estonia, Vietnam, etc., they impose costs in networking and prestige
on all these countries. All of the affected countries
should take an active interest in shutting them
down and bringing them to justice.
